A manof perseverance only insisting theatre stage, director Yong-Hwi Jang has been inaugurated as the first art director of Suwon City Performance Company.

He has long been behind the stage; for 27 years. Following his debut in 1989, he has been winning rave reviews through a number of productionsas a permanent director at Daehakno, a mecca for play in Korea and Gyeonggi Provincial Theatre Company. Besides, he has been referred to as a humanist of the stage, devoting himself to train younger students.

He reached the highest tickets sales for almost all of his productions and won a number of awards at numerous prominent festivals. Also, he is well recognized as a director who is actively taking part in social problems. This is because many of his plays that received favorable reviewsrevolve around the social issues that we are facing today.

Furthermore, he made a great contribution to development of culture and art in Suwonby directing various major events held in the city. This made him to be recognized as a director who loves Suwon city in all sincerity.

Now, hewill play considerable part in growing and evolving Suwon as the city of culture and arts.
