In July 2015, a new paradigm in Culture and Art,composing of troupe and Muye 24 was founded in the name of Suwon City Performance Company.

Muye 24 is the 24 martial art techniques contained in the Muye Dobo Tongji which was compiled by silhak scholars Lee Deok-mu and Park Jae-ga, and expert of martial art Baek dong-su as they were asked by King Jeongjo to do so.Today, Muye 24 has become a specialty of Suwon, due to its dynamic but terse style derived from its dynamic movements and weapons.Under the direction of Hyeong-Guk Choi, Ph.D. in Martial Arts History, implementation of scientific and historical research allowed Muye 24 to show more enhanced performance at one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Suwon Hwaseong.

Along with Muye 24, our troupe is comprised of the most brilliant actors in terms of their skills. It is made up of Namhee Lee, the best veteran actor in the play-house world, and the rest who gained a good press through countless popular musicals.The most acclaimed actors and one of the experienced art director are working in synergy to develop and perform remarkably creative pieces.

At the end of the day, Suwon City Performance Company aims to provide various musicals devoted to cultural heritage of Suwon and move one step closer to Suwon citizens. Especially, we will give culturally estranged people the opportunity to experience more diversified cultural experience by visiting them in person. We will present new paradigm of world-class culture contents, such as acrobatic and martial arts. Ultimately, leading the cultural arts industry and broadening Suwon citizen’s opportunity to enjoy cultural arts.
